- The BMW X2 and iX2 adopt Neue Klasse styling with a horizontal kidney grille and slimmer LED headlights.
- Inside, a pillar-to-pillar panoramic iDrive display replaces the standard gauge cluster.
- Powertrains remain largely unchanged, with the M35i delivering 312 hp and a 5.2-second 0–60 mph time.
Prototype spy shots and digital renderings from Kolesa.ru have surfaced, giving the clearest preview yet of the mid-cycle refresh heading to the BMW X2 and its electric sibling, the iX2. Set to align with the corporate look of the iX3 and the fifth-generation X5, the LCI update brings the subcompact crossover into BMW’s Neue Klasse design language with a clear visual shift away from the outgoing model.
The most striking change happens at the front fascia. The oversized kidney grille of the current X2 gives way to a horizontal, retro-inspired setup flanked by dramatically slimmer LED headlights that narrow toward the center of the nose. This fresh face mirrors the styling already previewed on the new X5 and the upcoming iX3, creating a cohesive look across the lineup. The rear retains its basic shape but receives rewritten inner graphics, including a thin upper horizontal LED strip, plus a tweaked bumper and diffuser combination on M Sport variants.

Cabin and Technology
Inside, BMW swaps out the conventional gauge cluster for a panoramic digital display spanning the base of the windshield. This pillar-to-pillar setup runs the Panoramic iDrive ecosystem already introduced in newer Neue Klasse models like the iX3. A new central infotainment screen is also expected, along with the possible adoption of a squircle-style steering wheel similar to the iX3’s signature layout.
Powertrain and Platform
The U10 platform, suspension geometry, and primary powertrain configurations remain largely untouched for this LCI cycle. Minor internal optimization could deliver fractional gains in range and thermal efficiency for the iX2 variant. The M35i variant retains its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder producing 312 hp (233 kW / 316 ps), with a 0–60 mph time quoted at 5.2 seconds. The iX2 distinguishes itself visually through a fully closed-off front grille, while sharing all the same design and technology updates as the combustion X2.
Launch Timeline
A public unveiling is widely anticipated late in the calendar year, with the market arrival slated for the 2027 model year. Until then, the current-generation X2 continues production as a 2026 model across global markets.
