Brembo’s 50 Years of Racing Excellence
When it comes to race cars, speed is often the first thing that comes to mind. However, the ability to stop quickly, efficiently, and safely is just as crucial. This is where Brembo, the renowned Italian brake manufacturer, steps in. Specializing in race cars, motorcycles, and high-performance road cars, Brembo is celebrating 50 years of racing in prestigious events like Formula 1, MotoGP, IndyCar, Supercross, and Le Mans.
Celebrating a Milestone with Iconic Racing Machines
To mark this significant milestone, Brembo has released a series of photos showcasing some of the most popular and dominant racing machines it has equipped over the decades. The collection includes iconic cars and bikes, such as Niki Lauda’s 1977 Ferrari 312T, Michael Schumacher’s F2000, and Max Verstappen’s car from his historic win as the youngest F1 race winner in 2016 at just 18 years old. Notably, the Ferrari 499P, which ended a 50-year drought for Maranello by winning the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans, is missing from the collection.
Two-Wheeled Heroes and Exclusive Partnerships
The collection also highlights the achievements of motorcycle racing legends, including Mick Doohan, Valentino Rossi, Marc Marquez, and Enea Bastianini. Brembo has been the sole brake supplier for MotoGP since 2016 and became the exclusive brake provider for IndyCar four years prior. Additionally, Brembo supplies all 10 F1 teams with brake calipers, either under its own name or through its sister company, AP Racing.
Brembo’s Global Impact and Future Endeavors
In 2023, Brembo supplied brakes for 90% of the grid at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The company has recently announced its partnership with IMSA as the braking technology partner, expanding its influence in North America and one of the world’s premier racing series. As Brembo celebrates its 50th anniversary, fans and teams alike look forward to the innovative braking solutions it will bring to the track.
