Ford Sued for Tariff Refund Share After Supreme Court IEEPA Ruling
A San Diego Ford Mach-E buyer named Jason Bullock filed a class-action lawsuit against Ford seeking a portion of the $1.3 billion the automaker expects to recover from the federal government after the Supreme Court ruled IEEPA tariffs unconstitutional. The suit argues that Ford collected inflated prices and higher destination charges from customers during the tariff period and would now receive a refund without passing any of it back to those buyers. Similar lawsuits have already been filed against Amazon, Costco, and Nike, and more automakers may face comparable claims. The outcome could determine whether tariff refunds flow to corporations or to the consumers who absorbed the original cost increases.
