Abandoned 1986 Buick Grand National Rescued After 31 Years in Pennsylvania Garage
A 1986 Buick Grand National sat abandoned inside a Pennsylvania garage since 1994 before rescuers recovered it in September 2025 with 58,000 original miles. The original owner had partially disassembled the 3.8-liter turbocharged V6 before passing away in 2025, leaving scattered engine parts across dusty shelves and a torn floor pan from a catastrophic driveshaft failure. After months of winter rebuild labor, the intercooled coupe fired back to life in July 2026, with a disconnected PCV valve causing initial rough idling and heavy exhaust smoke. Once smoothed, the wipers, bumper, and air conditioning were all restored to working condition. This Pennsylvania survivor preserves the legacy of the sinister all-black street warrior that Buick built to celebrate its 1982 NASCAR manufacturers’ cup victory.
