Hyundai’s exceptional electric sedan now boasts a high-performance N variant, mirroring its SUV counterpart, complete with an impressive wing.
Initially teased within the refreshed 2026 Ioniq 6 lineup, the highly anticipated 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 6 N has been officially unveiled, exceeding expectations with its sporty design.
Many of the aesthetic updates from the standard refresh are present in the N-rated 6, including the redesigned, streamlined headlights. The 6 N sports a more aggressive front fascia, widened fenders, and a distinctive swan-neck rear wing, elevating its visual appeal.
2026 Hyundai Ioniq 6 N Review
The N-branded electric sedan shares its robust powertrain with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. This includes a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system delivering 601 horsepower under normal conditions. Activating the N Grin Boost provides a surge to 641 horsepower for 10-second bursts. Hyundai estimates a 0-62 mph acceleration time of 3.2 seconds using N Launch Control. Independent testing of the Ioniq 5 N achieved 0-60 mph in just 3.0 seconds, suggesting the 6 N could potentially surpass Hyundai’s estimates. The top speed is electronically limited to 160 mph.
Ioniq 6 N Features
Enthusiasts of the Ioniq 5 N‘s simulated internal-combustion engine soundtrack will be pleased, while others can simply disable the system. Hyundai has refined the N e-Shift system to minimize performance reduction and enhance sound quality through hardware improvements and acoustic adjustments.
The Ioniq 6 N’s braking system features four-piston front calipers and single-piston rear calipers, paired with 15.7-inch and 14.1-inch rotors, respectively. These brakes are complemented by 20-inch wheels fitted with 275-section-width Pirelli P Zero 5 summer tires, developed specifically for this N model. The suspension geometry and chassis calibration have also been revamped, incorporating stroke-sensing electronically controlled dampers that adapt damping force based on real-time driving conditions.
Ioniq 6 N Specs
Hyundai confirms the 6 N will utilize the same 84.0-kWh battery found in the Ioniq 5 N, which offers an EPA-estimated range of 221 miles. However, real-world testing of the Ioniq 5 N on a 75-mph highway yielded approximately 190 miles on a full charge.
Pricing details and availability for the new model are still pending. Given that non-N Ioniq 6 models are approximately $5,000 less expensive than their Ioniq 5 counterparts, and the 2025 Ioniq 5 N starts at $67,800, it is reasonable to expect the Ioniq 6 N to be priced around $60,000.
